subscription_not_pausable
HTTP 409, type conflict_error.
The subscription is in a state that cannot be paused.
Why it happened
Only an active or trialing subscription can be paused. The message names its current state.
How to fix it
Read the state in the message. If it is pending_first_payment or past_due, it is waiting for a payment, and it can be paused once that payment succeeds and it is active. If it is canceled, expired or terminated, it has ended and cannot be paused. A subscription that is already paused answers subscription_already_paused instead.
Retrying: do not retry the same request. It will not succeed. When the subscription is active again, send the pause as a new request with a new Idempotency-Key: this refusal happened after the key was claimed.
